How many times have you tied your dog up outside a grocery store, a drugstore, or a video store thinking that no harm could come to your dog because:

• You live in a good part of town and dogs are only stolen in bad areas
• You will only be a minute or two inside. Nothing could possibly happen in such a short period of time.
• Your dog would never go with a stranger and if someone tried to take him, he would bark or put up a fuss.

Dogs are stolen every day from the best, as well as the worst parts of town.

• Do not leave your dog tied up and unattended while you run into a store, even if it is "just for a minute."
• There are other places to leave your dog when you go shopping, for example at home or in the car if the weather is appropriate. (not too hot or too cold)
